Update 2 for Open Beta is Tomorrow (Thursday)

Author Post
Sarah We are ready for our second update of Open Beta tomorrow (Thursday Oct 13th)! This update includes such changes as our first implementation of proximity based chat, a new command to see who’s playing, a new story, bug fixes, wider range of color options in the Marketplace, some surprises and more. Please backup your current game folder(s) and read all the details in tomorrow’s Update Notes.

We anticipate a roughly two-hour downtime starting at 11am MDT (Mountain time). If we need to extend the time we’ll update here in New/Announcements on the Forums. You will need to download a new version of the game client to continue playing after tomorrow's update.

Please also see the Knowledge Base article about transferring your in-game letters between updates: https://everjane.groovehq.com/knowledge_base/topics/backing-up-and-transferring-your-in-game-mail-between-updates

s4uc3m4n Awesome! Also /who?

Sarah Yes, /who exactly! It isn't server wide, for example using /who in Tyrehampton will show who's in Tyrehampton but not the Estate, but we're hoping should still be of help.

s4uc3m4n I think it sounds initially better that way.

If possible in the future it would also be nice to have a radius one as well.

Xiphias Oh, I have dreams of a radius or room-based one, in which you can /whisper, which restricts your radius to nearly touching, or /yell, which increases your radius -- and /eavesdrop, which allows you to hear conversations one radius-level higher than normal, but it obvious that you're doing it, so you have to skulk in, say, the back room behind the parlor and hope nobody uses the back door... and maybe even a skill or something which allows you to eavesdrop non-obviously.

Doug Specific details of the new localized chat, and the commands, will be published today.

Doug We are still in the process of testing today's patch on our production servers. We have removed the old clients from dropbox (which is now empty) and you will not be able to log in until you download the new clients. The new clients will be put up once testing is done.
